Old Boundary Hotel Cruise

Old Boundary Hotel Cruise

Old Boundary Hotel, 2 Milroy Street, Bendigo — 123km, 1hr 28m

This is one of my favourite cruises because of the literal pot of gold at the end of the rainbow — beautiful food.  I have been visiting the Old Boundary Hotel for a number of years and the food has always been consistently excellent.

The Boundary's steaks are something.  Prices start around the $30 range.  The seafood and pork dishes are also hard to pass up.  And for those who aren't so hungry, there's a range of entree dishes and salads to suit.

The athmosphere at the pub is warm and friendly, driven by experienced staff who do a great job looking after everyone quickly.

This would be a great tour for a car club looking for a day of fun, food and good things to see and do.

Bendigo in itself is a beautiful town and with it being only an hour and a half from Shepparton, it is an easy day trip.  There are plenty of things to see and do.  The architecture which was born from the gold rush days is magnificent.

There are so many signs of the period's wealth — the most obvious being the Shamrock Hotel, Courthouse, Town Hall and old Post Office in the central quarter.  There is the Central Deborah Goldmine, where you can explore, learn and even go underground.  The Chinese Joss House Temple is interesting, housing Sun Loong the oldest Chinese ceremonial dragon in the world.

Shopping is great and the arts and culture scene is as good as anywhere.  In fact, there's probably too much to see in do in just one visit.

Trip Advisor gives the Old Boundary Hotel near enough a five star rating.  Highly recommended
